Last year we ventured outside of our comfort zone and embarked on an adventure vacation to a small, secluded island in the Bahamas. The island had a few private homes, no motorized transportation and dozens of hiking trails, rocky caves and empty beaches. Many people were surprised that we brought our six year old daughter with us, but what better way to enjoy the adventure than through the eyes of a child? We hiked for miles, snorkeled, kayaked, swam, explored nature and created memories that we still reminisce about. So, enjoy the journey and…
Try something new. We swam with nurse sharks. We fed iguanas, sting rays and swimming pigs. I will always remember Lily’s amazement and excitement over the new experiences.
Explore. The sea star and sea cucumber were incredible finds!
Take pleasures in simple fun. We explored new beaches, skulked around in caves, built drip sand castles and collected sea shells.
Take photos and keep a journal. We left the fancy camera at home and found our phones captured the moment.
Take time to just enjoy each other. Not every moment of every day has to be structured. We snuggled on the hammock, watched the sunset and told silly jokes.
Be spontaneous! Have fun!
On our next vacation we will celebrate family fun and our 10th wedding anniversary! We are looking forward to creating more family memories on our trip to Universal Orlando with Mom It Forward and enjoying our stay at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel!
