It is hard to believe that Lily is done with kindergarten. I am amazed at how she has grown and changed during that time! I marvel at how quickly the school year flew by, and I know that the summer will pass just as quickly.
For us, the summer schedule says pretty much the same as the rest of the year since we both continue to work and spend the weeks in the office, but Lily is excited for a fun summer camp with swimming, field trips and themed weekly activities. We joke that we are going to send her to the office while we head over to enjoy her summer camp.
Last year she was excited to start her “big girl school” and dressed up on her first day. Sneakers don’t quite mesh with the dress, but the kiddo knew there would be a new playground to explore!
My little one went through so many changes this year! She lost several more teeth, and I even managed to muster up the courage to pull some of the dangling ones out for her. She rode the bus to after school care every day and made new friends. She took a jazz and hip hop dance class and performed wonderfully in her recital. I loved seeing her sassy, spunky personality shine!
She developed some wonderful soccer skills and was one of the best goalies on the team. Check out her angry goalie face below!
She excelled in school and passed the testing to get into TAG next year with flying colors. We are excited to see her continue to progress, and of course, I have some summer learning workbooks already waiting for her.
Here we are at the last day of school. These last few weeks I have enjoyed parking at the top of the lot and walking Lily all the way to the front door. How did we do carpool for most of the year before we realized the joy of the extra few moments of walking together?! I scooped her up into my arms for a huge hug, and watched until she was inside, waving at me through the window before heading off to class.
My sweet, smart, wonderful child! As I sit here typing, I want to rush back already for another huge hug. May the hugs never stop!
