We had a wonderful beach vacation in Perdido Key, Florida last month. Most people who have not heard of Perdido Key think it is in the Florida Keys, but it is actually a small key right on the border of Florida and Alabama. Luckily for us, this Florida beach is a pretty short drive down from Atlanta, depending on traffic. We can generally make it in about six hours or so.
I posted a few photos from the first few days of our trip last week, and I wanted to share some more photos from our trip.
After a few days in the sun, we decided to spend a day out of the direct sun. I don’t know about you, but the incessant spreading of sunblock gets old after a while! We went sunblock-free and enjoyed a movie (Epic – such a cute movie!!), a Ferris wheel ride and some Dippin’ Dots ice cream at The Wharf in Orange Beach, Alabama. Lily added the latter two experiences to her “first” list.
Lily and Adam had to pose for a photo as well! How cute is my family?!
The Dippin’ Dots ice cream was a fun treat! Lily’s smile says it all! We had to google how these were made and kept separated.
The next day was spent back at the beach. The wind and waves were the most volatile we have ever seen in Perdido Key and made it nearly impossible to swim out into the ocean with Lily since she hasn’t yet learned how to swim. The crashing waves brought out a bunch of the seaweed below. We also saw a lot of blue button jelly fish washed ashore in all shapes and sizes. I enjoyed reading about them online.
Here Lily and Adam start the digging for another big hole since the waves washed up our last one.
We did pretty well digging out another hole. Lily and Adam posed below with smiles on their faces.
Do you have a Wordless Wednesday? Please feel free to link up below so that I can come visit!
