Since my husband and father built this raised bed for me, I have been enjoying a visit to check on its progress every evening. Lily and I finish up with projects and dinner and head out to check on the plants. It is such a special and relaxing time for us. Doesn’t it look lovely?

Two types of delicious kale.
Our recent gardening craziness was the fact that random cantaloupe, tomatoes and potatoes started sprouting out of the compost I put out. We have a tumbler and I had recently tossed these remains in there, thinking they would be well-rotted by the time I dumped the compost into my garden. Live and learn! I’ve left a few to grow but tossed the rest. Check out this potato sprouting from the peel!
