With this warm spring, my garden has been thriving! Lily and I still check on it almost every night, and I pick fresh kale and spinach to use in our morning smoothies. One of my kale varieties has some tiny caterpillars munching on it, but rather than spraying we have been picking them off.
Lily in the backyard on the way to check on our garden.
Come on, mom, let’s go! Lily walking up the steps in our side yard.
My little vegetable garden oasis! I left some of the tomatoes and potatoes that grew out of my compost in here. I tried to pull out a droopy-looking potato only to find it already had a couple baby potatoes growing! I quickly replanted it and hope it makes a comeback.
Two more shots from different angles of my garden. The peas are growing well but no blooms yet. I’m excited to see a bunch of seeds on the zucchini. I left two of the strange melon plants that came out of my compost growing. They seem to want to climb a trellis….curious to see what comes out of these! I also purchased a bell pepper seedling and it is doing well so far.
Last but not least we are growing some hot peppers in a pot. I might have to transfer these to my garden…if only I had space! It is a crowded patch already.
