I have been wondering WHY there were squash, melons, tomatoes and even 2 potato seedlings coming up in random spots in my garden. I thought maybe my dad had put in some seeds when he and Adam built my raised bed. Finally tonight I pulled them out since they were growing in the middle of actual seeds I had sown. It looked like they were rooted all the way to the compost level! The potatoes were attached to old potato peels we had recently put in the compost bin. I left some of them to grow but threw out most. Sadly, the tomatoes that came from my compost are doing better than those I started from seed!
Thanks, dad (and Adam!), for giving me this wonderful space to enjoy and relax every evening! Lily and I enjoy checking on it every evening, and I sure enjoy getting my hands dirty digging in the dirt. It is better than yoga 🙂 It is a pleasure to grow something wonderful from a tiny seed. Are you growing anything this year?
