For the last year or so we’ve been growing out Lily’s hair to donate to Locks of Love. It was getting long, and long for a 4 year old means annoying. Adam and I joked that she was chewing her own bangs since the front part was getting shorter from her pulling on it or getting it in her mouth while eating. Finally, I measured her hair excitedly only to find we had about 5-6 inches. Locks of Love needs 10. That did it. I chopped it.
This is Lily before. (Thanks, Aunt Martha, for the awesome Hello Kitty top!)
This is Lily after. She was a hoot – all excited about her hair and jumping on her bed while fluffing her hair and posing. “I look like a new woman! My friends won’t recognize me at school!” Is this kid 4 or 14?
Adam suggested we leave her trimmed locks out for the birds to use in their spring-time nest building endeavors. Lily was thrilled with the idea! We checked it the next day but no takers. Maybe tomorrow…
