Carmex® lip balm was invented in 1937 by Alfred Woelbing, literally on the family stovetop. For the next 20
years, Alfred and his wife made Carmex by hand and poured it into the familiar yellow-capped jars.

Eventually production moved out of the Woelbing home and into a rented facility in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, where it remained until the move in 1975 to its current site in Franklin, Wisconsin.

Carma Labs employs about 100 people and is still owned and operated by the family: Alfred's grandsons Eric and Paul Woelbing. The Woelbing stove is now used for cooking things the family can actually eat.

Do you have a tutu lover in your home?  I know I do!  We received a beautiful packages in the mail and Lily went nuts trying it out.  The set includes a gorgeous tutu, a set of fairy wings, a wand and a beautiful headband.  Lily was anxious to try it out right away but let me tell you, it doesn't photograph well with school-clothes on!  This weekend we dug out a leotard and Lily dressed up to prance around as a real-life pixie fairy.  She loved it!  And please, please please pretend you don't see the sock with sandals in the pictures...though I do find them rather endearing!

I do have to say that I thought the actual tutu runs rather small for a 3-5 age range.  Lily (just turned 4) is relatively tall yet pretty slim, but the tutu was too tight on her waist.  She complained the first few times we tried it, so we stretched it out around a puzzle set for about a day and now it fits perfectly.  I really love the packaging and even tonight Lily commented on her "beautiful sparkly crown headband."   Such a princess at heart!

We were having our roof re-done due to hail damage and decided this was the best time to have some new dormers installed in our rather dark finished attic.  This has, of course, morphed not just into a dormer project but much more.

New roof and dormers = installed by professionals.  Thank the heavens.  Adam had shown me an article in his Family Handyman magazine (we're lifetime subscribers) showing a husband and wife team doing it themselves.  Hmm...I think I threw the issue out when he wasn't looking.  Oops.

New tubular skylights, two electrical outlets, two recessed lights and some AC tubing = installed by Adam.

The tubular skylights add a ton of light.  They almost appear to look like fluorescent lights in the ceiling.  Highly recommend these!

Discovered this in the hallway ceiling.


Looked up the metal shiny tube to find a gaping hole and the reflection of a tree in the tube.


With the glass caps on, these two skylights look like normal lights.  My parents visited last weekend and they kept looking for a light switch to turn them off.  Good job, honey!  I love having a handy hubby!  We like these so much we wished Adam had added two more while the roof was torn off.

MY THOUGHTS
I am no stranger to energy drinks and was excited to try Phix.  About a year ago I gave up drinking soda but I still sometimes need an afternoon fix (no pun intended).   Phix is really easy to prepare and mixes quickly with water.  You can serve it cold or warm.  I used my Phix at my office desk with lukewarm water and enjoyed it.  The flavors were all good, and the consistency wasn't too gritty or bitter.  I think Phix delivers the right about of a quick pick-me-up.  It definitely didn't leave me feeling jittery or jumpy.
