We will be hosting a Leap Frog party next month to showcase their awesome Tag reading system and LeapPad.  Lily has been enjoying playing with and learning about these products.  While she balks at being forced asked to practice her letters on print off sheets, she is more than happy to trace them on her LeapPad!  She went all the way from A to K last night!

I've learned to use Pinterest and love it.  I know, I know, I'm slow to join the crew but now I'm on board and saw this recipe on there.  Easy.  Fun.  Yummy.  I used roasted soy nuts as a crunchy topping and they added a nice color and taste.

salted saltine crackers
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
finely chopped nuts of choice (I used soy nuts, some recipes I saw used pecans)



Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper, sprayed lightly with cooking spray.  That will help you remove the toffee once it sets.  Cover surface with saltines.



Meanwhile, melt butter and brown sugar in a small pan over low heat until it is nice and caramel-colored.  Make sure not to burn it.



Once it is ready, pour the sauce over your crackers and spread out.



Bake for 8-10 minutes at 400 degrees.  Turn off oven but do not remove pan, add chocolate chips and let melt.  Spread over the entire surface.  Sprinkle with nuts.  Let cool in the fridge and then cut to size.  ENJOY!

We finished off Lily's room and the loft area and were done.  Very done...except that we were told the flooring store was not ordering more of this wood and there was just enough left to cover our master bedroom.  Guess we were stuck!  We started bit by bit this week in the evenings after work and made a ton of progress today = teamwork pays off!

At the end of Saturday...or rather the end because someone fell asleep on the couch after insisting "I don't need a nap anymore."  My how I wish that were me napping on the couch!  My back ached from the work but it is a nice ache.  I clearly spend too much time on my bottom in an office chair!

We have been working on installing teak flooring in Lily's bedroom and the hall and loft outside her room.  My Handy Hubby Adam's done such a great job!  We're mostly working on weekends and evenings since we both work full time.  Should we have hired someone to do it?  Probably.  But we like to see the fruits of our efforts and will be proud when we finish!  We're starting on the master bedroom (about 3-4 times as large as the other two areas we did - yikes).  I'll be happy if we finish by the end of the year!!
