I saw these in a recent issue of Rachel Ray and thought they were a fun idea.  Lily and I experimented with a batch this past Friday on our "Mommy and me" day off!  They turned out really tasty!

1 package your favorite cake mix or batter made from scratch (I resorted to the mix)
box of ice cream cones
1 (16 ounce) package vanilla frosting
1 ounce colored candy sprinkle

Prepare cake mix batter according to directions, or make any standard cake recipe batter (i.e. white, chocolate, etc.).  Place flat-bottomed ice cream cones in the cups of a regular muffin pan.  Fill each to about 2.3 with batter.  Bake at time and temperature as recommended for cupcakes.  Let cool, then add frosting and sprinkles. We had a blast making these!

Your daughter definitely had fun and she'll remember these memories forever.

I loved making those but they were hard getting to school. My daughter and I used to make them for every occasion we could think of.

My mom used to make these for me back in the day. It's been a long time since I've had them but they are delicious and fun to eat.
