Since spring is upon us, some of you may be trimming, pruning and planting…or already well into it! A few weeks ago on a lark Lily and I planted a packet of dried 2 year old pea seeds in our hard Georgia clay. Well, for some reason those suckers really took off. Soon they were twining around nearby plants and grasses. I needed plant stakes and fast. Home Depot had some but really…was I going to spend that much on a piece of bamboo or plastic? Adam suggested that I use some branches he had trimmed from his adventures in the garden. They worked perfectly – and were free! So save your tree branches for poles to stake your beans or tomatoes or peas or trailing flower vines. Happy gardening!
