So my wonderful husband bought me a wonderful Windows smartphone after I inadvertently commented that my old, trusty Blackberry Pearl seemed a bit antiquated. OK, OK, there was nothing inadvertent about it – I flat out stated that I had touched a newer smartphone and I wanted one. Badly. ASAP. Yesterday, in fact!
Shortly thereafter my beautiful HTC HD7 Windows phone was waiting for me on the counter when I got home. It was love at first touch. Since then, I am never without it. It takes great pictures, I have quick access to my work and personal emails, twitter, Facebook, GPS….but something this week made me wonder if I had become too connected to my phone.
After a busy day at work, I rushed off to pick up Lily from daycare and reached into my purse to make a call and found the phone slot empty. Instant panic. Where was it? My
baby phone! Did I leave it at work? How will I survive the evening without it? What if I need to make a call or check my email?!
The tension mounted as I rummaged around and found the phone still in my gym bag, where it had been since lunch. Phew. Travesty averted. But really…how pathetic am I? Can you unplug from your phone for the day?
Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post by Windows (oh how I wish it were!!) but I plea for others to confirm that I do not, in fact, have a smartphone addiction. Although I think I already know the answer to my plea. I was going to post a pic of me and my phone but I’ve taken my makeup off already…so you really don’t want to see it!!
