In the mid-80s, brothers Richard and Brad Caudle (one a school psychologist and the other a musician/composer) teamed to create Rock ‘N Learn. Over 20 years later, Rock ‘N Learn has grown to be the country's #1 educational video program, used in millions of homes and schools nationwide. Unanimously praised by educators, parents and the media, Rock ‘N Learn has earned awards from prestigious organizations such as iParenting, Learning Magazine Teachers’ Choice, Parents’ Choice, Dr. Toy and The National Parenting Center’s Seal of Approval as well as other awards.
Rock ‘N Learn Phonics DVD and audio CD programs provide an easy and fun way to learn the phonics skills that lead to reading and spelling success. Catchy songs and rhymes help students remember basic phonics rules, vowels, consonants, blends, digraphs, silent e, and much more. Delayed answers and the on-screen mouth (Phonics videos) allow learners to check their progress and use these programs independently. Our new Phonics Volume 1 and Phonics Volume 2 DVDs have been improved in two ways: much better animation and a lot more content to help students become confident readers. Students practice reading sentences and stories to apply the rules they have learned. These phonics video programs now have fun characters, sentence practice, read-along stories, and exercises to boost fluency.MY THOUGHTS
Rock 'N Learn carries a wide variety of educational DVDs, and I really appreciate any teaching aid that captures my child's attention. We received a copy of Phonics Volume 1 and Phonics Volume 2 to review. Lily was more than happy to oblige - she was moving and groving to the music in the car on the way home from daycare. At close to three, Lily is probably a little young for these particular DVDs, but she enjoyed them since she is very curious about letters, sounds, spelling and words. The music was upbeat and the songs were catchy and fun. I can see why Rock 'N Learn has won so many awards, and we look forward to incorporating these DVDs into her line up of parent-approved shows.
