I hate it when I have to throw out a food product because it went bad. It makes me feel like a wasteful person. Sometimes we have bread that gets a little dry and crusty – not quite edible – like those end pieces of the wheat bread we buy…no one wants those.
Instead of tossing the bread, I save it in an open container and let it dry out completely. Once dry, grate it finely on a grater and store in a closed container. Now you have successfully made your very own bread crumbs to use in your favorite recipes! Enjoy! And be proud you didn’t toss that bread.
