I know every parent thinks the world of their child (as they should!) but my little Lily never ceases to amaze me. The other day we driving home from daycare/work and I hear a little voice exclaim from that back seat “I saw a forsythia, mommy!” I had to ask her to repeat herself twice to make sure I heard correctly. For you gardening gurus, you know forsythias are the lovely yellow flowering bushes that bloom so nicely in the spring. Apparently that morning on their drive to daycare, Adam had been schooling Lily as to the proper names for various flowering shrubs and it stuck. I was so impressed that she remembered given that she isn’t even 2.5 yet! Lily also points out the daffodils, pear trees and the camellias in our front yard. Every night we say “goodnight” to the two white blooming camellias right outside the front door (one is pictured below). Who knows, maybe one day she will grow up to be a botanist!
